To help celebrate their 60th birthday the ICA invited 60 figures of ‘cultural importance’ to contribute photographs illustrating their ‘Visions Of Tomorrow’ taken with the new Sony Erickson K800i Cyber-shot camera-phone. My authors Danny Wallace, Steven Hall and Catherine Banner (pictured centre left with Peter Blake and Helen Adie) took part and the exhibition runs in London until August. Georgina Howell’s astonishing biography of Gertrude Bell (archaeologist, Arabist, spy, linguist, author, poet, photographer and mountaineer) has been shortlisted for the UK’s most prestigious non-fiction award - the 2007 Samuel Johnson prize. The winner will be announced at an award ceremony to be televised by BBC 4 on Monday June 18th 2007.
